Hello From South Jersey
I purchased a WSM about a year ago and have loved smoking with it. I grill a lot on my OTG too. Despite having virtually no mechanical skills, I am looking into build a UDS. I found drums nearby and have been reading up how to build them without welding.
I found this site via 007bondjb's YouTube channel. Someone somewhere posted a link to one of his videos the other day. Thanks for hosting these fora. I look forward to learning here. |
Welcome RD ...theres a ton of info on here for building a UDS and I know jb BOY ... lol from another site hes a good egg.... first thing ya gotta do is build a fire in it and burn it out to get rid of anything that might be lingering in there and then get some BBQ high temp paint and paint it up the way ya like ... ill post my measurments later on the holes ya need ... ya can also go to HD and get either 1 or two Weber 22.5 cooking grates ... depends if ya want 1 or 2 cooking racks...measurments can vary depending on what ur gunna do ... and also pick up a weber coal grate ... Ill also post a link to a guy who made a nice coal basket also ....its not that hard ... let us know where ur at from here...

Hey RD welcome. Joisey huh? Which exit? lol..I just love to say that for some reason. Seems like somebody who went by Mark "Runs with Scissors" Stephens used to use the phrase on his tagline. Ain't heard anything out of that boy in years. Me and him clashed a lot for some reason. Now kindly tell us how yall cook Johnsonvilles up there? Thanks.
