Got to thinking from seeing in another thread what your top 5 favorite rubs and sauces are?

She's throwing us off her trail!

Personally I don't like liquid smoke in my sauces. So I tend to avoid anything that has it in it. Saying that, Sweet Baby Rays on chicken is very good.

I love Buster Rhino's sauces and Butt Rub as well.

My steaks are hit with garlic powder and Montreal steak seasoning.

Otherwise I make my own sauce and rubs.

Monty cut it 50/50 with some honey and a little apple cider vinegar.
Good stuff.

If you think she's using this stuff in comps then I'm using ketctup, salt, and doe estrace. I know she's not. She might like it, but comps aren't about what you like if you are winning like she is.

Obie Que's Sweet
Wolf Rub Original(after all...Larry is my hero )
Prudhome's Poultry rub(favorite)

Sauce: Uncle Bubba's
Sweet Baby Ray's
KC Masterpiece bold
Cattleman's gold(great mustard sauce)

I will guarantee this...I use at least one from each of those lists at comps...which really makes it worth while to have your own stuff win. Kind of different than using someone else's stuff...which is ok too because I use other's as well.

Sauces vary so much in style that it's really hard to put this all into one category IMO.

1) Any Lexington Style
2) Head Country Original (Far! Far! superior to SBR's. Even Cattlemen's is better than SBR's)
3) Stubbs if you like the Eastern style

Not a big fan of rubs but based on what I've tried so far......

1) TexasBBQ Original
2) TexasBBQ Brisket
3) Head Country All Purpose (beginning to really like it on steaks)
4) Wolfe's Original

Last) Any rub with a lot of salt!

Yep...lots of walks and hardware...trouble...yeah, that's what I would call it. :roll:

LOL just for the record 4 of those got used in Franklin

I also still am a HUGE fan of Bruces Rub. It has done me well.
