Picked up this Weber off of Craigslist last week and have used it a few times.

Was planning on doing some ribs for my birthday next week but after a couple tests I'm having a hard time getting the temps down without using just 10 briquettes.
I did notice that the vents on the bottom stick up away from the inside of the kettle and figured that too much air is getting in. Am I right thinking that's the problem or will this thing just not run at 225 with 30-40 briquettes?

If you are still having problems with the temps, try blocking off one of the vents with foil, I have the same problem with my one touch 22.5, now its running like a champ.

I'll try that. Thanks for the advice.
