I WAS going to get 2 Three pound chucks to smoke for today. One for dinner and one to frezze. The wifey is going to Chicago Monday so I must be prepared. ;) I found one nice chuckie in the beef case and was looking right next to it for one that was real close in weight. I found one exactly the same size and grabbed it. When I was ready to cook this morining I rubbed the chuck and noticed the other package said "Shoulder Flat". It was rolled up in the package and looked just like the chuck. When it unrolled it was about as long as some ribs. .
I cooked them both and ate the shoulder for dinner. The chuck was sliced and put in the freezer until next week.

That was the shoulder flat. Is that the same as a brisket flat?

My old friend Chuck!
