Rain moves in before I can get my tri-tips on the grill!

Tri-tips with Santa Maria rub plus something extra on the grill

Grilled over direct heat and turned over three times for good sear.

Used indirect method until internal temp. reaches 125 to 130 degrees or so.

The finished product with Chimi Churri salsa, marinated pepper salad with pine nuts and raisins
plus swiss chard from the garden. Unfortunately, the little something extra on the grill and the
San Diego Charges game got in the way. I overcooked the tri-tip!! Still tastes good though.

I wish we could get tri-tip around here but it just never seems easy to find. That bowl of greens looks mighty good.

I'd take seconds for sure! :D

Looks good Lew. Damn rain got me too. Did the exact same thing and put the umbrella over the grill. Frickin Jets! They backdoored their way into the playoffs and now look at them. AFC Championship Game. Go Figure.

Lew, you might want to ask Larry or Finney about the reverse sear...I'm mearly a follower of the method...not the inventor!

It might have been overdone, but your tastebuds were too, so I'm sure it tasted wonderful. I sure the Chargers were going to win that game, but it sure looked like the Jets wanted it more. It'll be interesting to see how the play the Colts this weekend.
