Easter Island Ham
We had an Easter Island ham. It had a face.
Did this last night for Easter dinner. Smoked it with apple and then I hit it with a butter-rum glaze (thanks Larry!) every 15/20 minutes for about an hour or more. I took my rubber spatula and slid it thru each slice in the ham to load it with flavor while it cooked. "It was yum, yum"
Sticky icky glaze.

Re: Easter Island Ham
Nice looking ham. I can see where you got the Easter Island name. That's pretty cool. That glaze is amazing. Must have tasted just as terrific as it looks.

Re: Easter Island Ham
Lew the glaze kicks a$$. Larry posted the recipe here a year or more ago. It's real easy. I'll have to go find it tho if anyone wants it. My memory is terrible!

Re: Easter Island Ham
Thanks for all of the compliments. You can all thank Larry for the recipe. It really is an outstanding glaze!
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup dark rum (I used Myers)
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1. Combine all ingredients in a heavy sauce pan.
2. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
