burnt ends

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I did a thread on fake burnt ends a few years ago, but the search engine
on this site stinks.

I used chuck roasts, cooked em, cubed em, sauced and cooked em and thought
they were pretty good. Not as good as the real thing, but better than I thought they
would come out. Heavy rub, oak for smoke is all I remember.

Hmmm.....I wonder who invented the 'faux burnt ends'?
