Welcome. Gotta agree on the eastern NC barbecue preference. But Q rocks all over the state.

Welcome! I live in Clemmons, but I'm in Greensboro on business at least a couple of days a week. (My car can find its way to Stamey's all by itself.)

Griff and I will second those choices, with Wilber's and Skylight still duking it out for 2nd place.

My wife and I just returned from a trip to Arkansas. We had Q at Jim Neeley's Interstate BBQ on 3rd street in Memphis( just off I-55 ),a highly touted place by USA Today and Southern Living. We'll not be stopping there again! In Arkansa we had a catered dinner by the Cross-Eyed Pig BBQ. Great chopped pork, very good cole slaw, acceptable beans, but LOUSY, and I mean LOUSY ribs.
|
I agree Neely's Ribs totally blow! Fatty, stringy, and tough! My son actually puked in Neely's parking lot after he ate! We also tried BBQ spaghetti and couldn't only take a couple of bites. The best thing we ate there was there desert (a little lemon cake that was very, very good). For all the hype this place gets, I was expecting much, much more!
Also can't stand the Neelys TV show. Pat is OK but Gina is totally obnoxious. Ok enough of the Neely bashing!
