O-H
Jake from Ohio. I love grilling. My next purchase will either be a Big Green Egg or a Kamado Joe. Any opinions? My wife says I have to sell my lightly used Masterbuilt smoker and unused Disc-It grill first. Check out my sale thread for info.

Welcome again to the forum, grilling is what made me fall in love with cooking over fire. I grilled tonight after we got 5" of snow yesterday in my town in MN. The Disc-It grill looks a lot like a wok, check out a certain member, Vermin999, about how to use a wok outdoors.

I thought Buckeyes were from Iowa. What are they? Hawk Eyes or something?

Welcome Jake. There's a lot of grilling and smoking going on around here. If those are your options, I would choose the Egg because it has more accessories (TOYS!) and a better accessed warrantee. With a ceramic grill, you WILL need to use a warrantee sometime or another.

Thanks for the info. I had read that Kamado Joe has a pretty good warranty too. I was wondering, you said "if those are your options". Do you have a ceramic grill that you would recommend above the BGE and KJ?

Ceramics crack and break. I wouldn't recommend any ceramic grill. Yes, I have owned several in the past, I still own a Mini Big Green Egg, but I will never pay for another ceramic grill.
