Can someone please 'splain the word "Davenport"?
My Gramma' and Granpa' refered to it in the same manner.
Never could quite figger it out.
Seems to me Dave should park his car there.

dav·en·port (dvn-pôrt, -prt)
n.
1. A large sofa, often convertible into a bed.
2. A small desk.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[From obsolete davenport, a small writing desk, probably from the name of the manufacturer.]

You?? That???
I don't quite get how a desk could be made into a sofa/ davenport/ couch.
But one of the questions i've had on my 28 years has been answered.
Sorry SofaQ to interupt your welcome party.
But sometimes questions just have to be answered directly.

Well not sure you realize you reviving a month old post? Old SofaQ was sorta a one hit wonder. He crept in..crapped a few times..and crept back out. Now I got Chewawas who act the same way. Maybe we should call him ChewawaQ? Let me know. Thanks.
