NOOB
Hello all!
Found this discussion board after being repremanded for telling a joke, a clean joke, on another discussion board I had been involved with for some time. I felt it was a time for a change.
Anyway I have a new grill and this forum seems to be more of what I am looking for. I have a baby girl who is almost 2 and one on the way. I love to grill but am just becoming close to my new grill as for years I have had to use a very small grill, which is now a flower pot.

Bryan,
Good to have you on Board. For this is the land of Misfit BBQ'ers and grillers, some cast off's from other forums, mostly for no good reason. Sounds like you'll fit right in here. Look forward to hearing from you often.

The Joke That Got Me In Trouble
News Flash
Donald Rumsfeld while briefing President Bush this morning informed the President that 3 Brazilian soldiers had been killed in Iraq.
The President passed out upon hearing this news and was unconscious for 3 minutes.
When he was revived he asked;
"Just how many is a brazilion"

I was told that I was Republican bashing (a Republican sent me this) and it was off color. Lets see a show of hands for how many people know jokes a million times worse than that. I thought it was good clean fun.

No, it is a forum that discusses cooking in general, hint hint, that I will leave un-named. I think, from the letter I received, the moderator needs to get out more. I was told that she, the moderator, " I come from a strong southern background where we were taught to respect our elders, etc., so I could have easily felt you were making fun of our current president. However, my view of respect is that respect is given the "office" of president no matter who the sitting president is, regardless of accomplishments or party affiliation."
I wanted sooo badly to reply but resisted as I was also raised in the south with all the standard expected in polite southern society. I still open doors for the ladies and use yes ma'am no ma'am etc. It freaks out the old weman in Chicago to do so but that is who I am.
My family is composed of all sorts of people. My younger brother is a member of the Republican party and my older brother is a fairly strict southern Baptist. One sister is a nurse and one, years ago had a bit of trouble with substance abuse. One runs his own business and one is a network security professional. One home scholols 3 kids and the other just bought a cell phone for his 7 year old. We have all been raised with different religious affiliations as my Dad thought that would help somehow. Needless to say nobody is safe from any type of humor in my family. If we had to be politically correct we would have nothing to talk about.
I felt like a 42 year old school kid who was getting his ear pulled for doing something really wrong. I thought the joke was really funny and still laugh when I read it. I guess posting my joke about the Clinton bringing back a razor back pig from Arkasas would be totally out of the question with these guys.
Anyway I look forward to being part of this forum and have already warned my wife I may need to modify the new grill. She rolled her eyes but that is not the same as saying no. I have seen so many recipes it may be hard to get some work done.
Have to run,
Bryan
