Go to the rabbit farm and axe the Farmer if you can have the cooking pellets which accumulates under his cages. It the same stuff and much mo cheaper. If you know any yankees you can also sell them thangs to them labled as smart pills. Let me know if you need any marketing help in this area. I had an old chum who made some good money off the smart pill strategy. He also catch the rinse water when he take his pit to the carwash and sell it to em in gallon jugs for liquid smoke. That was a smart boy. Welcome aboard.

What kind of pellets are you using now, what brand name? Many competition teams are using BBQrs Delight and the owner is a comp cook herself.

Well glad you got a chuckle. Having fun is why I am here. Those stories which start out about yankees..tinfoil..pellet munchers..liquid smoke smart pills and having Marital Relations with Nanny Goats nearly all originated with my old surrogate Daddy named Belly Maynard. His real name was Billy but everybody call him Belly cuz he had a big giant belly. He always kept us in stiches on some of the old lists. Also was fortunant enough to have sat around a few cooking fires with the boy and even washed his pots and pans one time. Sure do miss him. He is at the Big BBQ Cookoff in the Sky. He is also the one who invented the joke about left hand and right handed briskets..as far as I know. Now some folks in this era believe it. But it just a joke old Belly like to pull on yankees.

Welcome OleSmokey! Where are you from? Best advice I can give you on the pellets is to find a person or two from your area and buy a full pallet of pellets. We use BBQ'rs delight, they are much better than Traeger pellets in my opinion. There are more and more people on this forum who use pellets so you might find someone here interested in goin in with you or try the Cookshack site on the Fast Eddy's forum. Everyone there uses them and just post ask if someone is willing to go in with you. It will save you about half the cost of what you see posted on the internet.

Drop an email to my girlfriend named Candy Weaver. Tell her I sent ya and I get a 10% cut of the action. Let me know. She is knee deep in the pellet bizness and has forgot mo about pellets than anybody could ever hope to learn..other than big time rabbit farmers of course She also very big in comp cooking..world class be the only descriptive adjective which springs to mind readily. Will cut you a deal most likely..as long as you mention my name of course.
