NEW From Pittsburgh
Hi everyone I'm 39 and from Pittsburgh and I KNOW nothing about cooking BBQ.
But I LOVE streaming BBQ Central radio every night- all night on itunes. I have grown to love the personalities on each show. I work at an academic library. I have my Masters in library science and I enjoy reading. I'd love to write about bbq or help out in anyway with podcasts it just seems fun and filled with kind people.

Re: NEW From Pittsburgh
Welcome sir. As the man said bbq cooking is a highly addictive hobby. I am currently on step 24 of the 12 step recovery program. Hope the library gives fat pay checks cuz it also a very expensive addiction. Prob not as bad as Golfing or Scuba Diving Mountain Climbing Skiing etc. but will still knock a big hole in your bolsa.

Smoke and Spice is a great one to start with. Just dont pay any attention to the times and temps mentioned. Not sure whut the boy was smoking on that deal. Has several good recipes in it and some humorous parts.

Re: NEW From Pittsburgh
Well I had this SIL from PA and all he would ever eat was meat and tates. They apparently do not allow any type of green veggie to be shipped to that state. Best money I ever spent was for his bus ticket back home.

Re: NEW From Pittsburgh
Welcome, You don,t need no books, you got this forum. OK so a book or two may fill in the blanks. lots of books to choose from. I have some from Dr BBQ as well as, Spice and Smoke, Paul Kirk's Championship Barbecue, and others.
The best advice I ever got was to get out there and Que. Good or bad you still get to eat your mistakes. borrow or build a pit and start smokin.
