Well, gang, I'm back.
Last visit I told y'all we were expecting our first kid. Since then, things have been a little busy, as you might expect. I've kept up with the Q, though, even if it hasn't been as often. After all, the kid takes a lot of the money I was spending on supplies.
A few quick pics from cooks for you...
September, half-smoked chicken breasts, brushed during the cook.
A cook with more chicken smoked in December:
Christmas, I received a new grill and a full-sized chimney. You can see the old kit in the shadow of the new:
Got a sweet bundle of pork so I could cook it up and give some to the Pastor, and keep some home. Rubbed it, wrapped it, prepared to cook it, and the kid arrived 5 weeks early. He spent 12 days in the hospital, so I moved the meat to the freezer. When I finally got to cook it, it had been in the rub for 28 days. The first big cook on my new grill. Smoked it, because it's way too cold out to be grilling at the end of January in Maine.
Had a few cooks I forgot to photograph, and I know it means they don't count, but oh well.
And the little man at the beginning of May. He's 4 1/2 months old now.
So that's it. I'm back again, and the wife is encouraging the habit. Missed y'all, and gonna jump right back into things.
