Hello from Raleigh/Hickory, NC
Hey,
I couldn't sleep so I was looking up some things on the internet and came across this site so I signed up . I am a 4th year student at NC State and in a couple months I will be moving from my apartment to a townhouse with a fenced in backyard so my dog can play. I'm really looking forward to being able to grill in my backyard as opposed to having to pretty much tailgate anytime I wanted to grill while at my apartment. I've only ever used Gas grills so I might try and venture into charcoal. Either way I go I am probably going to be looking into getting a new grill and just use my current one(below) for tailgating and camping.
-Chris

Re: Hello from Raleigh/Hickory, NC
WELCOME Chris, looks like you have a Weber Q, a great portable gasser. Stick around the BBQC Forum and you will learn everything you need to grill, bbq and who knows what else. Again welcome!

Welcome, from a member of the NCSU Class of '72! (Is the graffiti tunnel still there? After all these years, and all those layers of paint, it's probably no more than a couple of feet in diameter.)

Welcome. Gas is quite a bit more convenient but charcoal is fun and will add flavor. The best grill on the planet is a Weber One Touch Gold! Have fun and again, welcome!

Welcome to the blog. Everyone here is interested in one thing . . . eating and having fun! Ups, that's two. Maybe the rest of them will tell you what they are interested in if you give them a chance. Not to many shy folks here.

Not sure about the OTG TT, I'm getting a hankering for a Chaney's. If you and Lew don't stop posting pictures I may have to run west to pick one up. But I agree a OTG would be great on campus for Chris.

Re: Hello from Raleigh/Hickory, NC
Welcome aboard Chris! A premature congrats to your purchase of a charcoal grill. Keep the gasser you have as it is great for those 'I need to grill, but I don't have enough time to wait for the coals to be ready moments'. There's something to be said about gassers. Thery're the microwave of the deck! The only one I have is for tailgating. For a charcoal grill you can't go wrong with a Webber. You can grill and even smoke on one! It takes some work, but teaches you a lot. That's how I got started. I'd suggest the 26.75" if you can budget it as a Webber will last a long time if you take care of it. Ask all the questions you want. There's a bunch of folks here that know what they're talking about and are willing to share. Be sure to posts pics of your cooks as well.
