Hello from Lexington, KY
Hello everyone. My name is Jesse Gabbard and I live in Lexington, KY. I have been Q'ing for several years now and have jumped into the amazingly expensive hobby of competitive Q. Don't get me wrong--it's a blast and I find myself sitting around thinking about rubs, glazes, sauces and cookers. I enjoy the site very much and I love watching the videos of JB and Surfnsapo.
Hope everyone is well and I hope to talk to each of you mucho!

Thanks, Wittdog.
I cook on 4 different things: 1) Weber gas grill (she doesn't get much love anymore), 2) Weber Performer (kettle); 3) Charbroil offset pit (she doesn't get much love anymore either) and 4) Mt. Porkalayla--she's a homemade custom trailer pit made from a very old 250 gallon fuel tank. The story with Layla is that she was an old tank that my buddy's grandfather used a long time ago. And because it was not doing anything other than sitting in the field, we took it, cut it open, cleaned and burned the inside, welded a firebox and grates, sand blasted and painted her. She will flat cook. We have won a couple of times with her and we sit around thinking of new and better ways of cooking.

Welcome Loomis,
Is Lexington still beutiful? I spent a couple of years there. Lived right off campus the year Tubby won the championship and they went crazy at the intersection were Lynaugh's is. Very nice part of the country.

Bknox--yes, Lexington is still God's country. Rolling hills, fine horses, beautiful toothless women....what else could you ask for? Just kidding--the horses are expensive and the bourbon is smooth. With the incoming of new coach Billy Gillispie, we are just waiting for our 8th national championship. As normal UK basketball fans, we expect that we'll be so stacked in the years to come that every opponent we face will just no show up for the game. As they say around here--the war hasn't been won because Billy G wasn't the recruiter. The guy is simply a machine.
Greg--I don't know how I found you, to be honest. I have been looking on here for about a year and had the site bookmarked a long time ago. I just never joined, for some reason. Some day I would like to talk to you about your voiceover stuff. I worked in radio for several years and I miss it terribly.

Oh, Cap'n...you're just carrying on now. You know the link between Roy, my boy and Billy G, don't you? When Roy left Kansas for Carolina, BG came in with Bill Self as his assistant. It's pretty neat to see coaching circles come to fruition.

I'm just glad you got Gilly instead of Florida's coach.
I don't know why I don't like him, but I don't.
We've been stealing coaches from Kansas for years!
Dean and Roy!

Welcome, Jesse.

(I've barreled through Lexington a bunch of times on the Interstate, trying to get somewhere else in a hurry, and it really is pretty enough around there that I'd oughta stop sometime and appreciate it! )
