Hello from Charlotte
I found this site while searching for information on smokers. I've been cooking on Weber kettles for years and figured it was time to add a smoker. I'm not shopping for anything fancy and will probably end up with a Weber Smokey Mtn.
I generally use the sauce we make for our church barbecues or tweak some of the store brands to my liking. I'll definitely be trying some of the recipes from this site.
I've been using homemade and store bought rubs and they've run the gamut from good to bad. I'll be starting a thread asking for recommendations if anyone is interested.
Thanks for your time.

Welcome! You'll find no shortage of opinions here about rub (and just about anything else), and some of them will even be reasoned.
Oh, and we like pictures... post lots of pictures.

welcome! What church you be talking about?
My father was minister of the now defunct St. Johns
Presbyterian church on the Plaza in the 70's and 80's.
We did whole hog every September for Homecoming,
and I'd love to have the recipe for the 2 sauces we made.

Good to have you on Board 3 Olives...you'll need to go through the orientation class on Recipe Sharing pretty soon.
