Good afternoon everyone I'm very new to the smoking scene. I live in Northern Michigan. Work in a cast iron foundry. I just got introduced to the competition part of BBQ over the 4th of July weekend. We were at the park downtown at a craft and farmers market and they were having a rib cook off. I met a couple of the pitmasters that were competing and got talking to them getting ideas for somewhere to start. Got online later and discovered the UDS that one of the teams was using there. I decided to build one myself. Just finished it up and smoked a whole chicken and some BBQ baked beans in her. Yesterday I did rib and they turned out pretty good. Looking forward to the next smoke. Looks like BBQ for many weekends to come.
