Another guy from MI
Hi. This is the fourth BBQ forum I've joined in as many months. Why? Well, it turns out I can't stand elitist, narcissistic jerks. Grand Poobahs and their butt-sucking minions don't interest me.
Who'da thunk it?
I don't know everything, but I know enough to be useful.
I can admit that not all of my cooks turned out the way I want. I do not understand people who can't.
I have opinions and am not afraid to share. We might debate, we might disagree. The world won't end.
I grill on both charcoal and gas. I have smoked with charcoal, wood, electric, and gas. Your choice of fuel doesn't cause me to think you're an idiot. I hope my choice doesn't bother you.
I've read through the forum. I like the fact that everyone isn't doing their best to be perfectly polite or politically correct. It appears to be a small place, but that's ok. I'd rather connect with a few real people.
I hope I'm in the right spot.

I see your experience with smoking goes back quite a ways!
Oddly enough I've never been there. I grew up in Belleville, and it seems like we went to the Detroit Dragway 4 or 5 times a season but never Milan. I'm talking old days, Don Garlits, Roger Lindamood, etc. I remember when Done Prudhomme and Tom Mcewen were billed as the 'Snake' and the 'Mongoose' by Revell, who mostly wanted to sell model car kits!
I'm right in town, probably 3 or 4 miles away. On a still and heavy night I can just barely hear them if top fuel are running.

I can't remember what food we got at DD. Probably hot dogs or something.
Plank Road is in such bad shape I don't know how they convince anyone to even go there.

Thanks. It won't be as nice looking as what I've seen here. I am REALLY REALLY REALLY good at taking snapshots. I am decidedly not a photographer.

Does not matter that they are great pictures, or have great presentation, just make sure they are in focus.

The Rail closed years ago. The Walnut is still open.
Think I may swing by Roy's in the next few days.

Ah! Roy's! The best pulled pork sandwich that wasn't BBQ'd you'll ever have! I wish someone could dissect their sauce.
The Owner lost the bar to his wife in a divorce. No one much liked her and everyone stopped going. Last time we played there the audience was 2 or 3 people. It was pathetic. Not that it was ever great, but we did have some fun nights.

Ha, bring me some sauce.....
Oh okay, last few times I have been there, have not seen her. Kinda wondered what happened to her.
I remember the old days, grabbing some burgers at Roy's and heading to the beach for the Bikini Off Contest....
