Can someone give me any ideas on how to smoke a venison roast. My son finally got his first dear and wants me to smoke some for him.

Personally, I grill my game hot and fast because it has no fat and it tends to dry out otherwise.

John, this would be a great candidate for Pepper Stout Venison....As Griff has stated, it's super lean, so if you want to smoke it, you will need a braising liquid. I know you can't do spicy, so simply omit the jalapenos.

Thanks for the help, ill be getting a couple of roasts and one was asked of me to smoke it. I'll give it a shot.
