The trick to good biskit is not to worry a wet dough (over work).
I mix up all the dry ingrediants then cut in the shortning adding buttermilk last mix easy & slow no more than 15 seconds BY HAND no new fangled electric mixers. rather than roll out (worry) shape GENTLY by hand
2 c flour
2 ts baking powder
1/2 ts baking soda
1/2 ts salt
1/4 c shortening
3/4 c buttermilk
Bake at 450 for 12 min.
