Remember this guy?
Well, tomorrow is his birthday so we had him and my mother over for a light lunch today. I made crab stuffed portobellos.
Crab meat, egg, panko, shallot, thyme, garlic, lemon juice and S&P mixed and spooned into portobellos.
Sides. Romaine hearts drizzled with some reserved fennel lemon marinade for some chicken that we are having for dinner and bread brushed with olive oil and seasoned with salt and minced thyme.
Shrooms on.
Shrooms off. Melted gruyere on top.
Sides off (forgot to take an "action" shot).
Plated.
My wife's home made "birthday crème caramel" (one of my dad's favorites).
