Did my first kettle pizza yesterday afternoon after not being able to stand looking at everyone's pictures anymore without chewing on my screen. Since this was my trial run I used a $2.50 frozen pizza and added more shredded mozarella and pepperoni. I used a mixture of 1 chimney of regular k and royal oak spread across the entire grate. I set my pizza stone on top of my firebricks and let it heat up for a few minutes. This pizza tasted awesome! I am so pissed I didn't try this sooner! The crust was very crispy except right in the center where I had the firebricks. Next time I will space out the fire bricks and also let the stone heat up longer. Pizza was done in about 10 mins at 450. I added a little bit of hickory chips but I think it would have been smokey enough without them. Next time just regular k and lump charcoal. I know my pizza isn't as awesome as some of yours but it was my first time.

Always like pics of burning coals

Very nice! I did 3 pizzas exactly like you did a couple weeks ago and BURNT all three!

The crust was very crispy except right in the center which is where I had the bricks under the pizza stone. Next time I will space out the fire bricks so the the center gets crispier. I got the idea to do this from Larry's post. Best frozen pizza I ever had Larry!
