I've been wanting fish tacos for a while so Thursday evening I made them but put a lil Cajun twist on it.
The Cajun twist started with the fish I used. Gar fish! Yep, alligator gar. I used Frank Davis' Bronzing seasoning and added a lil ground cumin with that. Then onto a hot grill!

Of course an ice cold beer is a handy thing to have whenever your standing around a hot grill!

These were gar fish steaks.

Putting the tacos together made me thirsty for some "horny toes" so of course......

Gar fish tacos with shredded cabbage and a limey cilantro crema, Mexican rice and black beans(I for got the queso fresco until after I took the picture).

Excellent meal!

Looks yummy. Never ate alligator gar but have nibbled on some of its needle nose kinfolks. Very nice pretty white meat as in the photos. The big old females can be a bit chewy. How big was that one? Was it chewy?

Thanks! I was all delicious!
Bryan, the Andygator has a higher alcohol content too.
