Tonights gametime eats will consist of grilled Guiness Beer Brats, Oscar Meyer Selects Chicago Recipe hot dogs, possibly some burgers and all will be eaten on homemade New England style hot dog buns and homemade burger buns. If the weather permits I'm planning to heat up the outdoor fryer and make some homemade tortilla chips and or french fries.
Using the big Kitchenaid mixer sure saves you time and mess for kneading the dough.

Dang your playing my song here. Not sure life would be worth living without a smoked sausage prferably something that make a januine Texican break into a sweat..on a bun with mustard and kraut. Yum yum. I scheduled to eat some kinda dead oven baked fish this evening. I am getting real disappointed. We got slow pokey gendarmes but the way I figger the book in just take longer. I will prob just eat it instead of making her wear it.

Alright so the burger buns came out great but I didn't grill any burgers. :(
The buns for the brats came out but not as good as I expected. They were big enough to allow for dressing room for onions, saurkraut and so on but they weren't as light as I would've liked. I suspect the yeast was the problem.
The New England hot dog buns seemed a bit too dense but were edible. I don't know how I didn't get a picture of them.

The game was starting so I just sort of threw my brat together.

It was all good but I'll have to find a lighter hot dog bun recipe.

Fine piece of Chefery there young man. Great job. Feels your pain on them yeast rolls. Mine always come out a little dense too. We had an elderly lady who cooked at the county jail on the weekends. She make some that flat explode in the mouth. Beatingest thing I ever seen. I heard rumors of folks intentionally get throwed in just to get some of her groceries. Keep at it. You will get there. Talk to some old widder ladies. They know about that kinda stuff most likely.
