1-1/2 cup corn meal

1/2 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

2 cup buttermilk

1 tsp salt

Add sugar if desired

Combine all ingredients to make batter.

Add batter to greased and pre-heated cast iron skillet or clay baking dish.

Bake at 425 deg for 20-30 min or until lighty brown on top.

That looks pretty damn good, Cliff ~ Why the name "Tacky"?

This is a heavy cornbread. If you like hotwater cornbread then you will like this. It is sticky or tacky when it is hot.

That is when it taste the best with butter. As it cools it becomes more dry.
