Orange Pop BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:

1 12oz can Faygo orange pop ****DO NOT USE DIET****
1 cup orange juice
2 cups granulated sugar
zest of one large orange
1/2 cup vinegar
3 TBSP garlic powder
2 TBSP dijon mustard
1 TBSP worcestershire sauce
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

Add all ingredients together in a medium sauce pan, on medium high heat.
Stir constantly until all ingredients have been completely incorporated.
Let mixture come to a boil, not exceeding 225°F.
Once a boil is reached, reduce heat to a simmer and reduce by half or more.
Thickness is reached through reducing time. 30 minutes is about half reduced.

This just came to me one night, I love orange pop, and other flavors. I am going to try this out of my relatives at our Memorial Day Party. Hopefully MI Smoke will get over here, on one of those days that weekend, to try some of these sauces.....
 
I was planning on making the first run of it this weekend. You know I will let you know how it goes. More than likely I will be adjusting the recipe at this time too. I also have the makings of a few other new recipes, that depending on how this goes, I may be making a whole line up of sauces of this type.... It really depends upon how this one turns out.
 
I love faygo orange pop! I used to make a marinade/injection with rockin' rye. I forgot about it until just now.
 
Sounds yummy. Not sure I heard of that brand of sody pop. Used to love those Orange Crushes back in the good old days.
