Water or Sand in the WSM Water Pan?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I use a non glazed terre cotta saucer for a flower pot. I think they are 14" for the 18" WSM. I just took my water pan to Home Depot and found one that would fit.

I tried tat a few years years ago, mine broke. But that was in a ECB.

Lew ... a litter box is NOT filled with sand ! ;) :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

I use sand... the playground kind. wrap 5-6 layers of foil over it = easy cleanup.
