The sugar maples are the kind they tap to make maple syrup.
...Seriously .... the eaiset way ...
Look for the 5 prong leaf. There's a silver maple that has 5, but has a silverish underside on the leaf. The sugar also has 5 but the underside is a paler green ...not silver.
