Larry D.
Head Chef
One of my childhood favorites is gone.
Here is a lot of information about Soupy Sales: http://www.tvparty.com/soupy.html
and the infamous time when he answered the door and, instead of White Fang (a puppet dog that was only seen as a large, white paw) the crew had put a stripper behind the door, just out of view of the audience: http://www.tvparty.com/video/soupyshow1.ram
and there's also a clip about the time he told all the kids in the tv audience to take those "green pieces of paper with pictures of men with beards" out of mom's purse and dad's billfold, and mail them to him.
His show, and the weird sense of humor behind it, came closer to my way of viewing the world than just about anything I've ever run across.
