Three men were arrested Thursday, accused of breaking into a business along Ivy Road.

Albemarle County Police arrested 26-year-old Donnell Green, 21-year-old Billie Spencer, and 25-year-old Elijah Austin. One of the suspects set off an alarm inside the Toddsbury of Ivy.

Officers got to the scene a few minutes after the alarm went off and found one suspect in a car in the parking lot and two others hiding in the attic of the business.

We got called out at 3:15am to assist the police at a local convince store just outside of the city last night. The dispatcher only said that they needed a ladder and it was a "non-emergency call".

When we got there, there must have been 15 cop cars in the parking lot of this store and cops surrounding the building. We laddered the outside roof and carried an attic ladder in so they could go up and check the attic. A few seconds latter we heard several thuds and down through the ceiling came one of the suspects who first landed on a drink machine then rolled off to the floor. I haven’t laughed that hard in years. He was immediately pounced on by the boys in blue and taken into custody.

Little while later they found suspect #3 hiding in the attic under the insulation. If you have ever seen the COPS show, this would have made a good one. Of course we were so HYPED up after that we never did go back to bed.
