I have been friends with David since 98, I own a 24x48 grill with lid and have owned a backyard smoker in the past. David has donated smokers and cash over the years to competitions that I have organized and we have cooked together a number of times. Because of this relationship I would purchase an offset from David should I be so inclined.
I have seen Gators around the country while competing and I believe Richie does a great job, they would be a very good choice.
Someone asked about Langs, their is a reason they are priced like they are, the quality of the workmanship does not stand up to that of a number of other manufactures.

Who asked?
Who cares?
Why is it Klose vs gator?
Why not Klose vs Bates?
Why always "well for the price"?
Why are Hyundais cheaper than Hondas?
Why oh why?
Does anybody know why?
Why always Lang bashing?
Why do the BGE' sell for a $1000 when there's $20 of ceramics involved?

They are the established leaders in offsets.
They! They! a Gator is an established leader?
Because it wasn't the question asked. In time, I expect Bates will be included.
How much time?

Because they are expensive and worth it.
You didn't answer the question!

Because of the way they are priced.
Nope the Honda is the better machine, although
if you compare apples to apples the Gators more expensive.
There is no "why". That's just the way it is.
Why?
If you have to ask why, you wouldn't understand.
Why not ask?
Who bashed Lang? A cursory examination will show the difference in workmanship. They are not equal to Klose, Gator, or Bates. Any manufacturer also sets perceived value by the way products are priced.
Why are you so duhhh?

It's called "what the market will bear". It's the same reason $25 worth of acrylic paint on $5 worth of canvas may sell for $$$$$$$$$$$$$. It ain't what it cost to build it that matters. It's what the buyer is willing to pay. It's called "perceived value".
Percival the farmer?i know him!
Anything else?

Why?
