Jack scares me today in Shane....evil grin still gives me chill bumps.
Shane is the greatest western ever made, one of the top 3 movies of
any genre ever made, and Palance is a big reason.

Few know that Jack won a purple heart in WW2, he was training as
a pilot and bailed out of a b29 (I think) and was horribly burned.
After a lot of plastic surgery, he ended up with that skeletal face
that is so scary.

Played football for UNC for 2 years as well.

It's Jack Palance trivia week this week on Classic Movie Trivia,
part of the Morgan in Morning show.

When you saw Wilson putting on his glove, you knew somebody was going to die of gunshot.

(I searched google images and couldn't find a good one of Wilson's sinister grin. Palance in Shane and John Malkovich in In the Line of Fire are two of moviedom's all-time best villains.)

Was one of my all time favorites. He even made a good dracula. Sorry to hear of his passing.
