...only one man could create those distinctive movie trailers. His voice is now silent. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080902/ap_en_ce/obit_lafontaine_8

Wow, sorry to hear that!

Didn't he also do the BBQ Central promos............In a world permeated by BBQ websites under the control of tyrannical administrators.............

Sad news indeed.
I had the pleasure to exchange emails with Don on several occasions, and even in email, he was a great guy.

Last fall, he was in the hospital for what they initially thought to be a blood clot...but CAT's and MRI's revealed that it was a growth on his lymph nodes and left lung. During the exploratory surgery, his lung was nicked with an instrument and he developed a Pneumothorax...causing Subcutaneous Emphysema. They then later found a tumor under his lung, and he went through 7 weeks of rad and chemo. He had been struggling since then.

The cause was the presence of air or gas in the pleural cavity, the result of a collapsed lung (according to his agent).

My condolences to his wife Nita and the LaFontaine family.

Every one called him "The Voice of God" ... it appears God wanted his voice back.
