It says "Thai fishermen caught a catfish weighing 293 kilograms - 646 pounds - which is believed to be the world's largest freshwater fish ever recorded, a researcher said Thursday."
I thought Pacific Northwest sturgeon got a lot bigger. Sure enough. A quick search turned up an 1,832 pounder from B.C.
