I wish there was a way to get something to wounded troops, but if you could, the towel heads would be sending bombs....so, security for them trashes non-direct mail.
I don't have much time for the Red Cross either. Now the Sal Army is different...they are the real deal. I've talked to several vets who agree, it don't matter where you off load, a Sal Army person will be there with something. They are a welcome sight when disembarking from the bowels of a troop ship after 8 days on the high seas.
You're right about the funny hats sailors where, Bigwheel.
They are designed to keep them afloat in the water. There are thousands of drowned sailors who would testify that that didn't work real good.
