Dang Al, you met Julia Child? I bet that was cool! She was a scream when she was on Emeril.

I met her years ago (circa 1972) in a super market in Cambridge MA. We were both looking at the chickens and struck up a conversation. We became sort of friends and met occasionally for lunch or brunch and once she actually made lunch for me at her house. Onion soup and salad.
I often wonder what food and cooking would be like in the U.S if there hadn't been a Julia Child.

Susan,
It was at a AIWF dinner that I experienced the above mentioned meal.

Deb's on the way home from visiting her dad who had cancer surgery yesterday (outlook ~ optimistic)..Kids have been fed and are watching a video in the master suite, I'm on the deck watching the sunset, thinking of the future with AC/DC in the background...Now Foreigner... LaBatt in hand. Y'all have a good evening..

Bill, I'm assuming you are referring to your father in laws condition. I've been in that position with my own father before, not a good feeling. Fortunately he pulled through and is doing well now, I hope the same goes for Deb's dad and he has a full recovery.
