When I lived in bush Alaska in the early seventies we had bacon in a can. It actually wasn't bad. It still had to be fried and not just reheated which I'm sure helped a lot.

Excuse my ignorance, but why does 'Cappy invented' come up in conversation all the time?

Chris it all started when someone posted a question about atomic buffalo turds, and I posted a recipe.....so this guy, who will remain nameless, started calling em Cappy's ABT;s.

This drove Finney nuts, because if anyone wants false credit for
something, it is him.

Shortly thereafter, Finney came up with the idea of mixing honey
with Rev Marvins sauce for hot wings, which are incredible. But
before he could post the recipe here, I did, and the entire bbq world
thanked me for yet another contribution. This drove Finney absolutely
crazy to the point where he left the forum for amost a month and is
just now starting to return.

To make sure Finney is miserable, the board attributes all major
techniques and recipes to me, except for the Minion Method, which
I actually did invent but Jim stole from me.

Can't be any worse than those WWII C-rations they made me eat in the early 60's. Had to find an old dog and kiss him on the azz to get the taste out of your mouth.

Bacon in a C-ration can? Crap, all I ever got was beef stew which you can't heat in a fox hole. That REALLY sucked....pet food is probably better.
