FAT HOG
BURRESS, Neb. (AP) - Wilbur is a whole lot of hog. He's
being raised by 13-year-old Shane Manning, southwest of Lincoln,
Nebraska. Wilbur weighs nearly a-half ton. But the massive porker
started out as the runt of the litter. Shane says the guy who
owned Wilbur wanted to kill him because he had a bad leg and was
so small. But Shane got to take Wilbur home four year ago and he
didn't stay small for long. Wilbur packed on the pounds thanks to
dog food, beer and Oreos. Wilbur is too old for the county fair,
so Shane says Wilbur will stay close to home for now. At nearly
900 pounds it takes a lot for Wilbur to go just about anywhere.

Captain: Next time I go down to the farm where I get whole hog for catering. I'll take a few pics of the breeding bores and sows. There huge. They go about 800 to 1000 pounds and then some. Feeder's are fun to watch too. It's like a huge stock car wreck when it's feeding time, 30 or so little porkers going for the bucket at one time. It's hilarious!
