1st Fire of the Season
Had our 1st fire last night (another tonight). Temps got into the 50's so I decided to fire it up. It's a small one 'till we have it cleaned and inspected. A few of you know that my father-in-law passed away earlier this summer and that we decided to move from our river front home to this house which is a little further from the river and where she grew up. I haven't used a fire place since we moved here from Orlando (believe me ~ it get's cold enough!) and I'm WAY looking forward to this winter! Here's a pic from last night. And Nick, no candle here for our romantic evening. Kinda like them sunset pics you enjoyed so much, eh Bruce?
Winter is coming! We are starting to feel it already!

I hear ya kpigout. If it wasn't for the storms blowing in off the ocean it wouldn't ever cool down here.

Sorry to hear about your father in law, I hadn't heard. Starting to get cold down here on the island as well. We turned the AC off last night and opened the windows.

Weatherdude told me the heat index Sunday in Myrtle Beach was 120.
I can't wait for that first fire, or even just to be able to open the damn windows.
