Used Steel vs. New steel

I see that most pit makers advertize that they use new steel. What makes it better than used?

Hey Chris, I am not a master pit builder but have made a few. I use used steel all the time. Not a thing wrong with it. Now, if I need something particular that I cant find at the local scrap yard, I do buy new.
