I did some more work on my smoker to day. The firebox is 20in dia and 28 in long. I decided to go with the reverse flow. I had a 5in stack and thought it would be great for it. I think sunday I will weld n the smoker to the trailer and add the plates for the reverse flow. I also need to cover the back of the firebox. and make a cover for the stack. I will cut the door for the firebox in the morning also. Im almost there.

I need help with the plating for the reverse flow as you can see I am in close to the firebox. I can go right on top of the angle Then drop a plate from the angle lower maybe a couple inches down. Will that angle last with that direct heat or will I cut that pipe back.

didnt get much done today. I rented a plasma cutter today from Sunbelt toolrental and had to drive 50 miles to get it. Then I get back home and measure everything and it didnt cut. the green light for the pressure never lighted. It was a small 110 miller plasma. So I had o take it back so it took me all morning to get some work done. I cut the door today and make some hinges. I dont know if I should go with a round or square vent If I go with the square i will do a slide to open or close what should I do.

Did the two plates today. One thing I dont like about working with metal it has very little give. The cuts have to be just right.

Almost finished. I made the reverse flow today and made the caps for the firebox. Weld it to the trailer and still need the firebox intake and a couple minor things. I think the biggest job will be the sanding and paint.

don't know about your state, But in NY we don't need a lic plate on a cooker . or for anything that is fixed on it's own trailer. Not
meaning a utility trailer, Like a chipper or a compressor or even one of those road signs with it's own power on it

 Yea, thought I was busted one time by the airport. Five-O gave me two thumbs up at a red light. (still smoking, smelled great) Funny thing is that when the cooker was first built I took a certified scale of weight to the DMV and the lady said you don't need a plate. :D Cops like pork I guess. :D

Pigs

not bad for upside down welding. This was my first laying down welding. I pat my self on the back for those welds. i finished the firebox next is the wood rack on the firebox then the intake the door lips and the sand and paint then im done.

Works for me!!!
A blind man would love to see it.
I use a mig welder and get pretty good with that
I wouldn't go back to a stick welder

had her smoking yesterday while I sanded her down. I didnt get the fire going to hot. I kept it in the chamber around 150. I will coat it with oil then really get it going. I was looking where I need to seal and I am going to put the lips on the doors Sand and paint.
