Why do I get the feeling that this guy is a geeky college professor who got some type of government grant to study binary numbers and came up with this "calculator" and that we are the ones who really paid for this waste of flesh and space to sit around all day and think this up. whew...I needed that.

That poster can't spell, and probably can't do simple math without a calculator, or carry on a conversation that doesn't involve tapping out messages on tiny keyboards with his thumbs. (People like that shouldn't be allowed to have computers, by the way.) Anyone can see that the guy was trying to build his own Pachinko machine and screwed it up, then found out it could be used as an adding machine. Kind of like the Wright Brothers, who were trying to build an improved wheat threshing machine but got it wrong somehow.
