The oyster season has started in Virginia and begins at sunrise on
Saturday 10/15 in North Carolina.
I've put away all my bbq stuff (except Smokey Joe) and will head out to
DelMarVa and the eastern shore of VA tomorrow, working my way south
to Pamlico Sound NC.
This research project will take about 5 weeks and involves gathering
eastern oysters, hard clams, other mollusks, crabs, creatures, puffers,
other fin-fish and fixing/eating them in every way I can possibly think of.
When I crave bbq, pizza or steak, the project will be completed and
I'll go home!

Here's a pic of about 2 1/2hrs work from last year
10-20-04 oysters & clams..

Boy Bill, this is the second post of yours I've read in the past 5 minutes where you are trying to get out of the house! Is it time to strip and wax the floors?

One time Big GQue spit one past my head about 80 miles an hour. We were outside thank goodness. I looked at him and he said.."sorry man, I thought about what I was eating." That was 15 years ago. Now he eats raw octopus.

I'll take that. Me. Oysters slide past my taste buds before anything registers. I'm on a diet, though. I can only eat a grit.

SH

Ya have to slow down with them son! Enjoy the taste!
