I cooked a couple of London Broil steaks on the grill yesterday and man were they tough. Even after marinating them for 4 hours first. Is there a trick to making this cut tender, or should it just be avoided?

A sticker on the package said, "Grill it!". Yeah, right.

Makes great jerky. The folks I bump into who claim to grill it cook it pretty rare. Prob needs some wet cooking as in stew or beef tips..carne guisada maybe.

Needs to be cooked on hot grill fast!!
and cooked to 135 and then yanked and let rest under foil, sliced on 45 degree to grain very very thin.
Cooking to medium and then pulled....too late shoe sole leather

That is one thing you can not do with that cut of meat, it just will not allow you to do it with how the fiber is in it. Brisket is the same way, you have to cut it across the grain.
