Here's a picture of some shrimp I got on Saturday. They were mostly nice plump shrimp. I will be back later this week to get more. Can't beat the price of $2.75 a pound for fresh Louisiana shrimp.
I used my Smokin' Tex smoker to smoke the soft shell crabs and a hand full of shrimp.

Some of the shrimp right out of the fryer.

The soft shells hot and crispy!

My soft shell crab poboy on one of the last of the loaves of bread from Dong Phoung bakery, I went there Saturday with the intebtion of getting about twenty loaves to freeze most of them and they were closed for vacation. Luckily I had a few left a few left in the freezer and used that for my sandwich. Everyone else had Binder's pobpy bread as they ate smaller sandwiches.

I had mine with buttered warm bread lettuce and a homemade candied jalapeno pepper relish tartar sauce. The sweet and spicy matched perfectly with the smoked crabs. Oh and those shrimp I smoked came out even better than the soft shells. In the future that will make for a delicious appetizer dish or even for using in a gumbo. I have smoked oysters and used them in a Seafood(oyster) and Andouille gumbo which I won first place in a gumbo cookoff contest. That was a delicious gumbo!
My wife made a batch of potato salad that also went nicely with the meal.

Dang that looks mighty tasty. Fine job. Aint never seen shrimp that cheap. Your a fortunate fellow to get a hold of those.
