this is my first time cooking flat iron steak i bought two lbs and coated with Montreal steak seasoning and placed it on the rib-o-lator until internal temp was about 125-130 and then placed on a hot grill to reverse sear. this is a great steak, it was tender and very juicy, thanks to the rol of course. the small one is my wife's.

Looks great! I've yet to get a flat iron. Is it part of the sirloin or chuck or what?

Friesian, you live in the crab capital and your gonna have a protien shake? You do know I could easily take this down the dirty road.
I think I could live on snow crab and corn on the cob.

Al i'd highly suggest getting a couple of those for yourself. They are tender, tender.. ;)

oh crab! I saw the big ones at Albertsons .....19.99 lb. Thats when I turned to look at the lobsters and had to leave.

hahaha ya, doesn't make sense huh? I'm having the shake because I'm waiting on my venison baked beans and lamb to get done in my smoker ! I prefer fresh fish over frozen, but I do keep some of our catch in the freezer, and all I've got left is some halibut cheeks.
We had fresh king crab during the last opener in February ; won't have any fresh fish until next month when I had out for my black cod, and then halibut after that.... now, if my husband is really being nice he'll send me home some of the fresh king salmon he's out catching right now !

 First off let me appologize for the "dirty road" bit. I didn't do my homework therefore I didn't realize you were(and still are) a woman. Ok........there...my foot and boot are out of my mouth. Sorry, Friesian_rain.

Ok, now that you know that.........SHOW THE PIX OF THIS AWSOME FISH YOU HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lord have mercy on your soul for tease'n a landlocked, seafood love'n idiot!

Whats next, you have a piper cub on ski's sit'n in the hangar not doing anything?! :)

Hey, no worries you can't be thin-skinned bossing a bunch of deckhands around on your boat !
I will post some pictures when I can; lost a bunch off my computer when it crashed recently, have to get new pics. And no, there's no piper cub in our lives. Not with a 58' longliner/troller to take care of, just have the typical AK toys, skiff, quads and snow machines...
You can order online some great seafood from Taku Fisheries, we sell fish to them....

Their fresh frozen is really good !
