I just wanted to say thanks for all the people that have posted pictures and suggestions. This is my first post and I wanted to share my creation that was inspired by you fine folks here on one of the best BBQ forums!

In the first picture is the tank that I used:

I couldn't find my camera during the construction phase, but here is the finish project.

Here are my boys on guard duty- They are English Mastiffs- Angus and Fergus.

Then finally for my first test cook, I used chicken, just in case my smokers would be burnt offerings.

The cooker worked like a charm holding a temp of 205 F all day long.

Thanks a bunch for all the tips and insight on building a smoker

Great job on the pit!! Nice looking pooches too. Since the old Rotty passed..sniff snff...I am down to a houseful of ankle yappers. Eleven year old grand daughter recently acquired a Welch Corgy which I get to spend a lot of quality time picking up the aftermath of various deconstructions. Swear that dawg is a pint sized Rotty on steroids. It aint no foo foo dawg.

Nice dogs. The brindle appears much more intelligent than the fawn.

Nice cooker. Here's a pic of my son and daughter-in-law's English mastiff, Darwin. Mastiffs are neat dogs.

Love his dark face!!!

Thanks for all the kind words.

Someday I will have this smoker on a trailer with some other equipment. When I get phase 2 and 3 done I will send those pictures along.

If you never owned a English Mastiff, there are 200+ lbs of pure love. The fawn color one thinks that he is a Shih Tzu, and let me tell you that a 200 lbs dog trying to sit on your lap is not fun!
