Two Butts on this Morning

I have finally gotten a chance to smoke something. I have a few packages of two butts per package in the freezer so I decided to smoke a pack. Here is the beginningÖ

I was playing with Photobucket so I'm trying this.

It has been about 9 1/2 hours. The large butt is at 158 and the smaller one 154. They were right at 32 or 33 degrees in the middle when I put them on this morning. I guess it will be awhile. I only opened it up to put another thermometer in the smaller butt at 3:30PM.

How did you thaw them ?

I have a frozen twin pack of butts that I am going to have to break out.

Cliff,

I thawed them in an Igloo cooler. I needed another day.

One butt was at 195 and the other at 188 at about 9:30. I took them off at ten and wrapped another round of foil and a towel around each butt and placed in a dry cooler until about 11:10 PM at which time I started shredding.

Nick,

The Apple rubbed butt tasted fine. I really can't give a good opinion yet because I'm full of Chinese food and it is late so I'll give you a better update later when I make a sandwich.
