twice rubbed ribs??

I was watching BBQ America on PBS on Sat. and host did something I had never seen before. He put the rub on his ribs and then after a couple of hours he pulled them out slathered them with mustard and put a second different rub on the ribs, then he covered them in foil and put them back in the cooker. This was new to me! Has anyone tried putting a second different rub on your ribs? If so what were the results?? :biggrin:

Here are the two rubs he used:



1st. Rub:
2 tablespoons summer savory
2 tablespoons granulated garlic
2 tablespoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup brown sugar

2nd Rub:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon dry yellow mustard
